The bankruptcy of the Schengen agreement is the result of a political European construction ignoring reality. The announcement of the suspensions of the Schengen by France and Denmark agreement constitutes an event of extraordinary severity. The relevance of the fact would be comparable to the assumption that Germany’s withdrawal from the euro. But it would be a mistake thinking that this decision of France and Denmark is the cause of the bankruptcy of the process of European political union. In our view, we rather face the ultimate consequence of a process to take forward the European political union since a flawed approach and that, with this decision, it shows that it is exhausted.
